DOT Compliance Coordinator Overview of Position: This position is to assure compliance with Federal regulations pertaining to fleet management and hours of service. It includes training and education of drivers, monitoring hours of service, and counseling of drivers on audit discrepancies.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Monitor hours of service and review as necessary with individual drivers/managers. Update statistical reports on service status. As necessary complete a missing log listing and provide copies to operations for action; follow-up and secure missing logs are obtained.
Develop and lead an on-going driver training program for driver logs and DVIR’s.
Notify drivers on medical certification and driver’s license expirations.
Assist dispatch with driver calls and issues during shift.
Assist drivers with equipment familiarization, mentoring, and issues as needed.
Ensure all vehicles are properly registered and licensed
Maintain IFTA reporting and compliance
Ensure vehicle insurance is up-to-date
Ensure all vehicles have proper documentation
Maintain Riverlink and iPass accounts
Maintain fuel tax credit reporting
Assist Safety Director as needed.
Drive trips during high volume times as needed.
Other duties as required.
Education and/or Experience:
College degree preferred; High School diploma or GED required.
Five (5+) years related safety experience preferred.
Maintain valid CDL “B” with “P/S” endorsements and DOT physical card.
Experience in the use of Computer and Microsoft Office associated software.
Ability to work alone or as part of a team and be extremely people oriented.
Ability to communicate with employees at all levels, while setting professional example.
Thorough knowledge of applicable regulations (DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, etc).
Read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions.
Pass pre-employment drug test and adhere to Miller Drug/Alcohol and Employment Policies.
